FAQ’s

Please note, we are currently closed for the season, due to reopen towards November/December!

Can I pick my own strawberries?

Yes! You just pay for what you pick, and strawberries are $18 per kilo. We provide scissors and a bucket, this is to prevent pulling on the plants and damaging them. We ask parents to please mind their little ones as it can be very tempting to pull every strawberry in sight, even the green ones! Strawberries are one of the few fruits that don’t ripen after being picked, they may deepen in colour but there is no further change in flavour, so it’s important to only pick the ripe strawberries. We are happy to show you the best areas, and to tell you what areas may have already been heavily picked.

Do you accept Eftpos?

Yes, we accept EFT and cash.

I want a strawberry tower farm!

Roger designed and installed the current vertical growing system, and has already been commissioned to develop vertical growing systems for other farms. If you would like to know more about this system, either for your own home garden or commercial systems, visit Verti Gro Australia, where we sell these systems.

I want to grow my own vegies, do you have something smaller?

We have smaller options for your own garden, including solar and electric SmartFarm systems or vertical planters. You can view more and purchase these via Verti Gro Australia

What hours are you open?

We are currently closed for the season.

Is there an entry fee?

No, there is no cost to enter the farm.

How much are the strawberries?

$18 p/kilo, you only pay for what you pick.

Can I bring my dog?

We request that you leave your furry friends at home, to avoid any instances of multiple dogs on the farm.

Is the farm wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We have a family member who uses a manual wheelchair and he was able to navigate through the strawberry towers. On rainy days, it can get muddy so keep this in mind.

Is the farm pram friendly?

Yes, a single pram is able to navigate through the towers however a double/twin stroller is unlikely to fit through the towers. Kids are more than welcome to wander the farm!

Are there toilets?

There are no toilets accessible to the public. There is no access to the home available in any circumstances.

Is there a café or can I get a coffee?

There are great local options nearby, we don’t have a café onsite.

What happens when you are picked out of strawberries?

When we sell out of strawberries or have picked out the field for the day, we will post on our social media and close the farm gate with a ‘Picked out’ sign.

Are the strawberries and other produce organic?

For produce to be classified as organic, they need to be grown in soil. As our strawberries are hydroponically grown in coir (coconut husk) and not soil, they are never able to be classified as organic! As per the Australian Certified Organic Standards 2021 “Hydroponic or aquaponic systems whereby plants are fed principally through soluble fertilisers in media that are devoid of a healthy and complex soil ecology are not certifiable under this Standard.” We don’t use harsh chemicals or pesticides.

Anything else I should know?
The farm has muddy patches, so be aware the kids shoes may get dirty if they run through it!
We also have 2 bee hives on site, outside the strawberry area and not accessible to the public however this does mean we probably have more bees buzzing around than most people do in their garden, something to keep in mind if you have an allergy to bees.
